Well, we'll see when the time comes. It would be a shame if it were gone, of course. I think it's like with others; they'll try to prevent it.
Rumors are that if prevents ADB unlocks to last a system restart. You can unlock of course by paying USD 20 to chinese guy but when you restart you will have to do it again.

I also suspect there are different hardware versions. Perhaps it has something to do with the "unofficial" V2.2.2, that only some vehicles received it?!
I got mine Seal U Dm-i in Bulgaria about two months ago. Back then, all the forums were showing 2.2.0 as the latest version. But my firmware was showing 2.2.2 .. and the BYD representative said that they uploaded the latest available version before they handed over the car to me. So I am pretty sure that 2.2.2 is official. Also someone mentioned in this forum that he was told by BYD support that version 3.1 will be released this year and all these problems should be fixed.

That would make sense if the HUD had always looked that way. Before the update to 2.2.0, my wife's looked just like mine; after the update, hers looks completely different from mine.
You are right. And is the software and hardware version of HUD/OSD different from your wife's car? The settings screen that shows detailed software version levels.

I now have version 2.3.0 and the HUD looks like this.
I think it is different HUD hardware. As HUD is controlled over CAN - it is not a pixrl by pixel rendering of what you cast to the windshield.

Is your hardware version V02.E03.00.39.03 by the way? I tried the same today in the support chat of the application and the answer I got was pretty generic ("Based on your VIN, you are on the latest version, we don't have official scheduled dates for new updates"). I got by BYD Seal U Dm-i Comfort 3 weeks ago from the distributor and I am wondering if the hardware versions matter.

Awesome! Hope that this will bring some nice cool features. Hopefully casting to the instrument cluster display and HUD directions. The EU version uses a different CPU which has some limitations but third party apps have proven that it is possible to do both.

That's exactly what I reported to the employee in the live chat today, that I have the late design. They then told me that OTA version 3.1.0 should be available within the next two months. The bugs should be fixed by then. It remains to be seen.
Sorry for the English. Did they tell you that 3.1.0 is coming for Seal U Dm-i?
